When it Pays off
When the Newton Country Club installed their scoreboard last year, John Shawver,
head golf professional for the course was bombarded with comments.
“We’re a private club and our members love it. We have it in our courtyard where
we host post-tournament gatherings and it gets a lot of attention,” says Shawver
adding that he has seen a rise in concession sales since the installation. “I’ve had a lot
of members who own businesses tell me it looks so good that they want to get their
names up on it.”
Matthias, too, says his golfers began to hang out around the scoreboards, “It’s
driven greater food and beverage sales as golfers congregate to share results and wait
for new scores to post.”

come in, things can get pretty frantic posting them — it has made my job so much
