• Allows drive to execute commands in
optimised seek order
• Improves throughput and reduces latency
• Available in SATA and SCSI
• Usually implemented in high end SATA drives
• Native Command Queuing –SATA
• Command Tag Queuing ‐ SCSI
Command Queuing is useful when you are trying to process multiple
concurrent commands.
If you processed the commands serially, the drive heads could be moving
back and forth across the disk surface.
