CURVED CORNERS Curved corners have many advantages, not least when it comes to clearing up litter, fallen leaves and other debris. They are also far more user friendly in a game situation especially when two opposing players are trying to take control of the ball.

ROUND POSTS

Our fencing is supplied with 88.9mm CHS posts as standard increasing in size to 114.5mm CHS on heights of 4.0m and 5.0m high fencing and 168.3mm on 6.0m high. Round posts due to their shape have no sharp angles minimising injury and damage to clothing

CRANKED TOPS Whilst the general wish is for unlimited open space, the truth is that often good quality open spaces are few and far between. When the area surrounding a multi use games area is built up and the external environment dictates the need for the fencing to both contain the ball and act as a security fence, Steelway Fensecure Rebound fencing can incorporate cranked extension arms to make climbing that much more difficult.

TRANSITIONAL PANELS Transitional panels are designed to make stepping down in height look good. Transitional panels can be incorporated into all heights of fencing for full flexibility.

SQUARE POSTS For court areas where users want a higher quality of play and are playing off the fence then a “True Ball Rebound” is required. Our fencing posts can be changed to 100mm SHS square posts so that the Rebound panels sit flush with the post. For goal posts we recommend our standard round posts for safety.

ACOUSTIC TESTING

In August 2000 we appointed an independent consulting engineer who conducted an on site acoustic test on one of our installed Multi Use Games Areas. The results indicated that so called “Acoustic Dampers” were un-necessary and largely ineffective. Their advice concentrated on ensuring that the fittings stayed tight. Steelway have now incorporated their advice into our design process and now use a special locking mechanism, which reduces the risk of fittings coming loose. This area of research and development has provided us with an accurate insight into how acoustically friendly our Multi Use Games Areas are.
