> Imsouane, Morocco
Spencer cooke
A whitewater paddler first, spencer Cooke fell in love with surfing
ocean waves 10 years ago and has never looked back. he’s been on
the u.s. east surf Kayak team twice, was a u.s. national Champion
in two different divisions in the past six years, competed in two world
championships, and has numerous 1st, 2nd and 3rd finishes in
surf and whitewater competitions. In 2003, he co-designed the surf
kayak Charger by Mega Kayaks and recently co-designed three new
surf kayaks that will be released by Riot Kayaks in 2008. “since I live
in the mountains of north Carolina my favourite surf spot happens
to change a lot, depending on the last great spot I tried. Currently,
my favourite spot is in Morocco. A break called Imsouane gives
consistent, steep and fast pitching waves where you could use the
lip of the wave as a ramp to launch yourself time and time again.”
