Introduction
Hampshire cricket is fully committed to providing the highest quality team, stadium and membership scheme
and 2009 will see our efforts in each of these areas, re-doubled.
The team is entering a new era and already it features some of the best young talent in the country such as Liam Dawson and James Tomlinson who
performed so well in 2008. World-class overseas players will continue to be sought to complement our home-grown talent and although we don’t see
him quite as much as we would like, don’t forget that we have the England Captain, Kevin Pietersen on our books.
The plans for the new development that will turn the ground into a state-of-the-art Test arena are now well underway and we expect to see significant
physical changes by the time the season starts in April. We are committed to keeping our Members fully updated of progress throughout the process
whether through forums, mailings or online.
We will continue to refine the membership scheme in order to provide genuine value for money and to ensure that Members feel welcome and valued
at the very heart of our Club. The cricket and economic landscape is changing very quickly and we need to remain flexible enough to react accordingly
while at the same time protecting the great heritage of Hampshire Cricket and the game in general.
2009 is of course Ashes year and cricket will be at the forefront of public interest. We have a fantastic opportunity to welcome ‘KP’ and his England
team mates to The Rose Bowl for the NatWest Series Floodlit One Day International on Wednesday 9th September so make sure you book your
discounted Member’s ticket early, to guarantee your seat.
Finally I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support at such an important time for Hampshire Cricket and The Rose Bowl,
and I look forward to celebrating a successful season with you all.
