Narberth Area
Narberth
The pretty market town of Narberth with its ruined castle offers visitors a unique blend of old
and new.
It has a reputation for being a very welcoming town ever since the days when Narberth was the first
stop for the Milford to London Stagecoach. Rich in history, it offers visitors a warm and friendly
welcome to some of the best shops in Wales.
Its name is derived from the pre-Norman name for the area, "Arberth", which is mentioned in the
myths and legends of The Mabinogion, the ancient Welsh folk tales of the 14th Century.
Modern Narberth has transformed itself offering visitors one of the best shopping experiences in
Wales. Locals and visitors alike are drawn to
the town for the unique and independent
character of its shops and cafes.
Narberth is centrally located in
Pembrokeshire and is surrounded by
beautiful countryside that will delight
walkers and offers many attractions such as
fishing, wine tasting and historic Carew
Castle.
