St Davids and surrounding Area
Where better to celebrate St David’s day on March 1st than in Britain’s smallest city? St Davids may
only have 2,000 people but it boasts a cathedral, Bishops Palace, Celtic cross, and a growing reputation
as the Foodie Capital of the North. It also takes its place amongst the cultural heavyweights with the
newly opened Oriel y Park, the Landscape Gallery,
which aims to interpret the landscape and heritage of
Pembrokeshire. For the more adventurous there is an
array of water sports in which to indulge.
It is also the only British city to lie entirely inside a
national park, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
This provides great walks, all year round, in the
rugged scenery.
The picturesque harbour of Solva, just down the road,
offers woollen mills, arts and crafts shops, galleries,
restaurants, cafes and pubs. It’s perfectly placed on
the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Exploring along this
part of the path will reveal burial chambers, harbours
and gulls galore.
