Saundersfoot
Saundersfoot harbour is the heart of this thriving town. It was built in 1829 and transformed the small
fishing village into a thriving industrial port. Queen Victoria decreed that only coal from Saundersfoot
should be used to power the first Royal Steam Yacht.
Saundersfoot provides easy access to the spectacular coastline of Pembrokeshire. There are large
sandy beaches which, along with the harbour, make it easy to relax or enjoy water sports or fishing.
The harbour is still very much a working harbour and Saundersfoot Bay offers some of the finest
sailing waters in Wales.
Saundersfoot has an increasing reputation
as a "Gourmet Resort", thanks to the
large number of high quality restaurants
and cafes and the use of local
Pembrokeshire Produce throughout the
town. It also offers a wide range of shops
for visitors, in which to pick up holiday
essentials and the chance to indulge in
some pampering spa treatments.
