teenagers to learn on their own, or with
their parents, in order to make major
financial decisions after graduation.
We need to start teaching kids
early, Jill says, because money is more
complicated now. “I realized, early in
my business, that most of our financial
problems today are caused by a lack of
knowledge,” the author says. “No one
wants to admit they don’t know how to
handle money, but few do. Today’s world
is not a cash world, it’s a credit world, a
much more complicated world. If you
don’t learn early, you’re going to be in
big trouble.”
Jill Russo Foster currently works
in Norwalk as a mortgage broker and
founder of The Mortgage Arrangers, LLC.
She is also working on two other books,
one for college students and the other for
post college young adults.
