1 David Field has been appointed head of sales and
marketing at Fresh – The Good Food Market. A
graduate of University College Dublin (UCD) and
the UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business,
Field’s most recent role was as account director
and head of marketing with Pigsback.com. Prior
to this, he was product group manager for the
Yoplait portfolio with Glanbia. Field has also
worked with Superquinn in a number of com-

mercial roles over a seven-year period.
2 Karina Keating has joined FMI as account manager.
In her new role, Keating will be responsible for
the day-to-day operation of specific client
accounts and training and managing her team.
Keating worked across a broad spectrum of
industries including IT, property and telecommu-
nications before joining FMI. She holds a degree
in business and languages and has experience
in direct sales and field management with corpo-
rate clients both in Ireland and abroad.

3 Declan O’Farrell has moved to Magnet Business as
marketing director. He will develop and implement
Magnet’s marketing strategy with a view to max-
imising growth in the Irish market. With over nine
years’ experience in telecommunications, he
joins from Vodafone Ireland where he worked
since 2002 in a number of senior roles, most
recently as head of consumer products and pric-
ing. O’Farrell holds a degree in engineering and
an MBA from Trinity College Dublin.

4 Friends First has appointed Conor McCarthy mar-
keting and communications manager. McCarthy
will be responsible for operational marketing and
all communication activities. He joins from
Hibernian General Insurance Company where he
was strategic marketing manager. Prior to that
he worked with Norwich Union in the area of
product development and marketing.
5 Maeve Dineen has been appointed business editor

of the Irish Independent. Editor of the Farming
Independent for the past five years, Dineen also
presented the RTÉ series Ear to the Ground and
has contributed regularly to radio and TV pro-
grammes such as Questions and Answers. She
has a degree in agricultural science from UCD
and a master’s in communications from Queen’s
University Belfast/Dublin City University (DCU).
