The summer starts here
This is my favourite time of the year. The clocks have gone forward, the evenings are longer and summer is just around the corner. It’s also the time when you realise that the number of resolutions you have kept since the start of the year probably equate to the number of times you are still going to the gym that’s costing a small personal fortune every month (and wasn’t one of your resolutions to get out of debt?).
So, if you are one of those people who resolved to find a new job but haven’t done anything about it, then Welsh Recruitment’s newly launched job board is packed with the latest jobs in Wales and will steer you in the right direction to get your job hunt back on track.
Flicking through the pages of the last edition you may have spotted our new bi-monthly feature focusing on equal rights and discrimination issues for disadvantaged groups. This week, Opportunities for All looks at the newly created Commissions for Equality and Human Rights that will come into effect later this year.
And, Welsh Recruitment was fortunate to steal some time with Jacqui Hare, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Learning and Teaching at UWIC to get her thoughts on the key reasons why students in Wales should not be put off applying for places at universities despite the increase in tuition fees.
Finally, Welsh Recruitment editor Dave Middleton will now be concentrating on numerous other projects and has passed the baton onto Yours Truly – big boots to fill. However, we are delighted that Dave will continue to be a part of the Welsh Recruitment team with his own column in every issue.
This week, in ‘Competitive Edge’, he tells us what it takes to gain the competitive advantage in the job market and how to improve your chances of securing the job you want.
After all, we all need to bang the drum every now and again.
