Heaven has been at the forefront of clubbing in
London for over 25 years, and the only way to stay
there is constant evolution and re-development. One of
their fl agship nights for the past 17 of those years has been
Fruit Machine on a Wednesday, which has gone through
several incarnations from dance to drag to cabaret and
more recently to urban. In keeping with its current set
of clothes, and to refl ect the growing trend for all thing
‘street’ and 80s, the whole night has been re-branded
and re-positioned in the market and is now called WORK!
Note precise use of the exclamation mark, it’s not ‘work’, its
‘WORK!’ as in ‘you’d better...’
The music policy of the club refl ects this new identity and
includes hip hop and r’n’b in the Star Bar, disco and cabaret
with Studio 54 legend Tallulah in the Departure Lounge
and 80s/electro with Dennis Da Silva in the Dakota Bar. The
main room was presided over by Freddie Thomas whose
‘dance party’ set was a major success and had the fl oor full
