Encouraging people to dress up for a club night
is never easy. They’re either inclined to make the eff ort
or they’re not. However, once in a while a club will come
along that practically demands a little fl amboyance.
Circus is one such night. Now running for over a year
at the Soho Revue Bar, the night is the playground
for hostess Jodie Harsh and her coterie of costumed
reprobates. The night attracts a complete mix of club
kids, celebrities and freaks, and the plush grandeur of
the Soho Revue Bar provides the perfect setting for
the weekly goings-on. You can mingle at the bar, grab
yourself a booth seat, shake a leg on the pocket-sized
dancefl oor, or even throw yourself around one of the
poles if you’re really feeling like showing off . And, given
the amount of eff ort that some regulars make with their
attire, showing-off is usually pretty high on the agenda!
Jodie usually manages to secure a special guest celebrity
DJ each week, and on the night of our visit it turned out

He looked amazing and there wasn’t a diva strop in sight. E

door bitches or you dress to the nines in a silly outfi t!”
