Ten year flight
Alcoa Fastening Systems Ltd (AFS) is celebrating a ten year business relationship with Miloco, one of
France’s leading air cargo container producers.
Located at Roissy-Orly near Paris, Miloco employ 40 people to construct and repair air cargo
containers for Continental Airlines, Air France, Corse Air and the French air force. It is also the only
manufacturer of cargo container trailers in France through its factory in Britanny.
Using Huck Magna-Grip® fasteners, Miloco repair between 25,000 and 30,000 containers per
year. It also constructs approximately 7,000 new ones which arrive at the factory in a kit format.
Jean Aubin Kandissounon, production manager at Miloco explains the process and why, after ten
years, they are still very happy to use AFS products and tooling. He said: “Containers can be
expensive to repair and the fact we only require one type of fastener, easily installed by one
operative instead of two, means we can carry out the necessary work or production quickly and
efficiently, thus providing a faster response and better value for money. In addition, our customers
always comment that Magna-Grip provides the completed product with a better aesthetic finish
compared to standard non structural rivets, which we had previously used.”
