ambulance
A perfect sunny, 26-degree Spanish day - just what
you need when running 26 miles 385 yards.
“It was just a bit warm by midday”, says Gary Dixon,
“so I was very happy with 4 hours 23 minutes.” In
saner moments, of course, Gary is commercial director
for Caparo Atlas Fastenings. On March 2, though, he
was one of over 9,000 competitors in the Barcelona
Marathon. Gary was running for the benefit of the St.
John Ambulance ¬ an independent UK charity that,
through 45,000 volunteers, delivers 5 million hours of
community service each year and provides the UK’s
largest fleet of ambulances. Gary will be back in action,
for the same charity, at the London Marathon on 13

New appointment looks to the future
WTI Fasteners Ltd, the UK based manufacture of wire thread inserts, has appointed John Rendle to the newly created position of
technical sales engineer.
John will have the responsibility for developing the customer bases of both WTI Fasteners and also WTI Nonpareil, the manufacturer of close
tolerance taps and dies.
With 47 years experience in specialist engineering, 14 of which have been in sales and technical support on wire thread inserts, John brings a
wealth of experience to the rapidly expanding WTI Group.
