Arnold scores gold for ‘Fastener
Express’
Arnold Unformtechnik won the gold award at December’s ‘turntec’ Fair in Frankfurt, for its rapid
prototyping concept, ‘Fastener Express’.
The jury was convinced by Arnold’s concept, principally because of its process reliability, and the resulting
extremely complex prototypes, produced to near-series characteristics in a quarter of the usual time and at a
quarter of the usual cost.
The decision was also influenced by Arnold’s unique “bulk production check” carried out by Fastener Express
experts on every component commissioned. This process assesses, at prototype stage, the optimum full scale
production process, for example cold forming or turning.
The award, determined by a jury of experts representing users, universities and the technical press, was
presented by Dr Joachim Wuermerling, state secretary of the German Federal Ministry for Economics and
Technology.
