High speed 360° thread inspection

Compared to the recent past the expectations,
today, on inspections systems and the requested
resources of inspection possibilities is increasing
enormously.
The engineers of GEFRA have responded to these
demands through the development of new systems or
by creating new inspection possibilities.
Nowadays, an increasingly relevant criteria on screws is
a faultless thread without any marking or other
deformation. This criteria can only be ensured by a
truly 360° surround inspection of the threaded area.
Therefore, GEFRA developed the first truly 360°
surround thread inspection by using camera systems
and reflection light process and its own special
inspection tool. This system can be adapted on any
model of the inspection system OPTISORT, like the disk
system OTN or the latest screw inspection system OTS.
Herewith it will be possible to inspect the complete
surface of the threaded area on the screw with speeds
of up to 600 parts per minute. The same system can also be
used to inspect surround surfaces on cylindrical parts like tubes.
