WIRE 2008 set to break records
WIRE 2008 will be staged 31 March to 4 April in halls 9 to 14 of Messe
Düsseldorf – alongside TUBE 2008 and, for the first time, METAV, Germany’s
leading trade fair for manufacturing and automation technologies. Messe
Düsseldorf is already reporting exhibitor numbers and space for both WIRE and
TUBE had exceeded 2006 levels.
By mid January 1,080 companies from 50 countries had registered for WIRE’s main
sectors of cable and glass fibre machinery, spring production, metal forming, wire and
cable. Based on 2006 visitor numbers Messe Düsseldorf anticipates 37,000 visitors to
WIRE alone, of which 60% are expected to come from outside Germany. Exhibitors
have also exceeded 1,000 for the TUBE 2008, with 29,000 visitors expected. METAV,
the manufacturing and automation technology show, will be stage in Halls 1 to 5 and
15 to 17.
The majority of fastener manufacturing equipment exhibitors are located in WIRE halls
13 and 14. These exhibits cover technologies ranging from wire drawing and feed
systems, cold-forming, thread rolling and tapping, other secondary operations, process
control, inspection and packaging, heat treatment, simulation software and an
extensive ranges of tooling, dies and punches. Material suppliers, as well as spring
making and wire forming equipment throughout Halls 9 to 14. In the following pages

together with in depth articles provided by some major exhibitors and preview
information on many more stands.
