Introduction 2008/09 Travel Technology Guide
Introduction
Welcome to the third edition of the
SourceIT-Travel.com Technology Guide.
The first edition, launched in conjunction with the 2005 Travel Technology Show was a
resounding success and this edition is being published to coincide with the 2008 Show.
The first two editions were printed whereas this one uses turning page technology from Yudu
Media. This allows us to distribute the Guide immediately and saves on postage costs. The
Yudu media technology includes many useful features to help the reader get the most from the
Guide. There are direct links to websites and email addresses and pages can be annotated
with notes and can be bookmarked. There is also a powerful search and zoom facility.
The Guide complements the
SourceIT-Travel.com website and both help travel companies find
technology solutions. It has been compiled using the supplier listings on the SourceIT-
Travel.com directory. SourceIT-Travel is the largest, most up-to-date travel technology
supplier website. The website is free to use and lists nearly 700 suppliers and over 1,000
products. Suppliers are added daily and the site has quadrupled in size since it was launched.
SourceIT-Travel.com is easy to use and has a comprehensive search engine and database.
Many suppliers have product literature that can be freely downloaded from the site, including
independent Reviews written by Equinus, the UK’s leading travel technology consultancy.
Supplier contact details and products are listed with direct links to the suppliers’ own websites.
Updated daily,
SourceIT-Travel.com is the best place to find travel technology suppliers, 24/7.
This Guide is published annually, in conjunction with The Travel Technology Show, Europe’s
leading exhibition of technology for the travel industry. Show visitors receive a free copy of the
Guide which will be updated every three months.
The Guide is sponsored by Equinus and Yudu Media Equinus operates the Advice Centre at
The Travel Technology Show, providing visitors with free advice on travel technology. The
Advice Centre is sponsored by
SourceIT-Travel.com. Yudu Media have sponsored the turning
page technology.
Exclusively for this Guide, Equinus has prepared a check list for choosing systems and
independent reviews for many of the Travel Technology Show exhibitors. For more information
about Equinus visit
www.equinus.com.
New for 2008 are Featured Suppliers, a full page “Fact Sheet” about the travel technology
supplier and its products. These use a similar format to the Exhibitor Fact Sheets that are
available at the Travel Technology Show.
If you need independent advice on choosing or implementing technology solutions, please feel
free to contact Equinus for an initial, free consultation. With over 100 man-years experience in
travel technology, Equinus is well qualified to help and offer advice on how best to proceed.
Our special “Thanks” go to Equinus for sponsoring the Guide and writing the supplier Reviews.
If you would like more information about any of the suppliers listed in this Guide, please visit
the
SourceIT-Travel.com website. If you are a supplier and wish to expand your entry or
discuss future editions of this Guide, please contact Bob Stockwell at bob.stockwell@sourceit-
travel.com.
We hope you will find this Guide useful and when used in conjunction with SourceIT-
Travel.com, you will be better able to research and identify suitable technology suppliers.
We would like to thank Yudu Media for providing the turning page technology and The Travel
Technology Show for endorsing the Guide.
