Datalex is a leading provider of travel distribution software and solutions for travel suppliers and
distributors. Its solutions deliver increased content and choice across multiple sales channels and
significantly reduce distribution costs.
With a long and successful history, Datalex has served the travel industry for over 20 years, developing
innovative products and solutions. Its customers include major airlines and travel agents throughout
the world. Headquartered in Dublin and listed on the Irish Stock Exchange, Datalex employs 200
people with major offices in Atlanta, Singapore, Manchester and Amsterdam
Datalex’s core product is the Matrix Travel Distribution Platform (TDP). TDP is a comprehensive
product suite that delivers procurement, packaging, promotion and distribution of multiple travel
components and content. It allows travel suppliers and distributors to source a wide range of
components from multiple vendor systems and dynamically package and price them for sale through
different channels, either direct to the consumer or via intermediaries.
TDP is an efficient and proven gateway solution providing multi GDS and direct supplier connections
with the flexibility to manage and customise rates and inventory from multiple sources through a single
platform.
It also provides access to multiple price, inventory and content sources from remote systems via a
range of third party adaptors. Using flexible business rules, suppliers and partners can be determined
for each sales channel. From a single search, TDP can simultaneously connect to multiple hosts and
return the appropriately priced options in a single display.
TDP is highly scalable and flexible, providing multiple vendor and content access through the single
platform. TDP includes a number of modules that share the common platform:
TDP Air Shopping: An independent fares pricing and management system, including TDP Fares,
Datalex’s air fares management and pricing system.
TDP Land Shopping: An on-demand shopping solution for hotel, car and insurance products.
TDP Business Rules Centre: A simple-to-use, web-based user interface and rule scripting module
which enables advanced shopping and pricing functionality for multiple products and services.
TDP Consumer: A standard, customisable user interface that provides a user-friendly process flow
with intuitive navigation.
TDP Agent: A feature rich end-to-end business solution, from pricing to booking management
including ticketing and accounting systems integration.
TDP uses the latest technologies including Sun Microsystems’ Java 2 Enterprise Edition Specification
(J2EE) and XML. Web Services provides the flexibility and interoperability for deployments across
multiple travel-business domains. Support for the Open Travel Alliance (OTA) XML schema is
included.
Datalex’s markets include airlines, travel agents & other intermediaries as well as hotels & resorts. The
long customer list includes United Airlines, Singapore Airlines, SAS, STA Travel, Virgin Atlantic, Saudi
Arabian Airlines, South African Airways, Aer Lingus, Trailfinders, Best Western Hotels and Vail Resorts.
Offering a distinctive blend of commercial and technical expertise, Datalex works closely with its
customers to implement its products as part of an optimised business solution. Its case studies clearly
demonstrate the return on investment that can be achieved. Using Datalex’s financial models, potential
customers can easily calculate the likely return on investment that can be achieved through cost
reduction and new revenue generation.
