Do you think your experience will influence
your future career direction?
I think I have chosen a volunteer experience
which is very close to what I am currently studying
at university, and something that interests me.
It will give me a chance to see how things work in
a different field, outside of my study and work.
Will the experience help you get a job?
I think that employers will look favorably on my
volunteer experience. You learn different skills
and are able to work with people that you might
not otherwise get the chance to work with. It also
shows that you are community minded and take
an interest in matters outside of your own life of
university, work and play.

Where are you doing volunteer work?
We have a real chance to help those most in need
and I would like to be a part of that.
I am currently signed up to volunteer at Oxfam
Australia’s Darfur Australia Network, in their
Refugee Working Group. As a volunteer with this
group, I assist refugee lawyers with preparing the
case papers for refugees seeking a visa here in
Australia.
What got you interested in doing volunteer

I’ve had an interest in international issues for a
long time and this is a chance for me to gain some
