Airport Staff
Access:
controls a necessity
to mitigate risk
Counter-terrorism is an activity that involves all the
actors in the aviation industry, not just the security
professionals. Yet, how many times have we borne
witness to airport employees who not only seem
disinterested but also consciously manipulate security
rules for their own benefit? Human factors can be the
key to effective security, but they can also be the
weak link in the airport security chain. Alain Establier
considers the threat posed by those we ought to be
able to trust the most.
